Castlewellan Forest Park

Castlewellan Forest Park is located just two miles for our accommodation, it has walking and hiking trails ranging from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the Mourne Mountains and the surrounding countryside. The historic Castlewellan Castle which dates back to the 19th century. The gardens surrounding the castle are beautifully landscaped and perfect for a leisurely walk.

Castlewellan Forest Park also includes a large lake where visitors can enjoy activities such as fishing, boating paddle boarding which you can hire, or just simply relaxing by the water.

There are designated cycling paths for those who prefer to explore the park on two wheels (that are also available to hire) it can be a fun activity for the family.

The Castlewellan Maze is a unique attraction located within Castlewellan Forest Park, the maze is designed in the shape of traditional hedges that create a labyrinth-like experience for visitors.

The maze is suitable for all ages, making it a great activity for families. Children especially enjoy the excitement of navigating through the maze.
